<p style="font-weight: 400;">Department of Petroleum Engineering, School of Energy Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar is organizing&nbsp;<strong>1<sup>st</sup>&nbsp;International</strong><strong>&nbsp;Conference on Green Hydrogen for Global Decarbonization-2023&nbsp;</strong><strong>(ICGHGD-23</strong>)&nbsp;on<strong> March 17-18, 2023 in Hybrid Mode. </strong>The theme of the conference is &ldquo;Green Hydrogen: Cleaner and Zero Emission Fuel for a Sustainable Green Economy&rdquo;. The&nbsp;conference&nbsp;gathered international hydrogen leaders, experts, company CEOs, smartest hydrogen executives and scientists to deliberate and discuss the entire hydrogen value chain for insight sharing, relationship building and deal-making, continuing the momentum and driving the hydrogen industry forward.</p>

1st International Conference on Green Hydrogen for Global Decarbonization (ICGHGD)-2023

<p>Science &amp; Technical Committee, OSAIL, PDEU had organized Tesseract 8.0 &ndash; The Annual Sci-Tech Fest of PDEU. Committee had planned 50+ Events from 3rd Feb to 5th Feb, 2023 on the theme of &lsquo;Andromeda: From Infinity to Beyond&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The CollabSci: Climate, Sustainability &amp; Energy Symposium was one insightful and engaging event that happened in PDEU on 4th September, 2023 at 10:00 AM. This one-day symposium shed light on the pivotal role of Scientific Collaborations in the realms of Climate change, Sustainable Development, and the Energy sector.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The symposium was divided in two enriching segments. The morning session had three expert lectures, providing insights into the current landscape of Climate Change, Sustainable Development, and Energy. and the collaborative efforts required to tackle these global challenges. The Afternoon session featured an exciting poster showcase by the participants.</p>

CollabSci: Climate, Sustainability & Energy Symposium

<p>6th International Oil &amp; Gas Chemistry, Chemicals and Additives Conference (IOGCA 2023) was organized in PDEU on 12th &amp; 13th September 2023.<br />&nbsp;<br />IOGCA 2023 provided an ideal platform with right mix of subjects for end-users, industry, scientist, researchers, chemist, chemical manufacturers, chemical and process engineers, and academic specialists to discuss the current issues and future opportunities in the industry and exchange experiences thereby increasing the understanding of upcoming trends, strategies and technologies in managing the challenges that can be handled by chemicals and chemistry. This meticulously designed two-day event created opportunities for the participants to evolve their ideas and cogitation as they listened to a well-crafted panel discussion along with thought-provoking speaker sessions in all aspects of chemical and chemistry. The conference was devised for industry professionals involved or interested in solutions for multiple challenges in Oil and Gas production, processing, refining, handling and value addition through chemicals and chemistry.</p>

<p>On 10th July 2024, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar organized an orientation program for newly admitted B. Tech students within the institute's premises. Over time, the purpose of orientation programs has evolved to include enhanced academic support and resources, aimed at better preparing students.<br />The program was inaugurated with &ldquo;Urja Stuti&rdquo;. Honourable Prof. S. S. Manoharan (Director General of PDEU), Dr. Anirbid Sircar (Director of SoET) and Dr. Dhaval Pujara (Director of SoT) and other dignitaries were present as the chief guest on this occasion.&nbsp;</p>

B. Tech Orientation Program 2024-25

<p>The Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat, in collaboration with Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar, hosted the <strong>Research &amp; Industry Conclave on Bioenergy</strong> on 18th November 2024. The event highlighted the critical role of academia-industry collaboration and innovation in achieving large-scale bioenergy production. <strong>Shri Manish Gurwani, IAS</strong>, Mission Director of GSBTM, opened the conclave by outlining GSBTM's commitment to fostering cutting-edge technologies and supporting network programs focused on advanced biofuel production. His address was followed by <strong>Ms. Mona Khandhar, IAS</strong>, Principal Secretary, DST, Government of Gujarat, who underscored the state&rsquo;s dedication to the vision of <em>Viksit Bharat 2047</em>. She emphasized the pivotal role of bioenergy in reducing carbon emissions to achieve net-zero goals, supported by robust state policies ensuring energy security. <strong>Dr. S. Sundar Manoharan</strong>, Director General of PDEU, spoke about green hydrogen as an emerging frontier in bioenergy. He highlighted PDEU&rsquo;s initiatives in carbon dioxide sequestration, antimicrobial resistance strategies, biofuel production, and advancements in semiconductor and solar PV panel manufacturing. He also commended the DST for its efforts in promoting research in biotechnology, bioengineering, and biomedical devices.</p>

Research & Industry Conclave on Bioenergy Showcases Academia-Industry Synergy

<p>The DST-Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) organized an "Investor Summit-2024" on 1st August 2024 at Pandit Deendayal Energy University. The Investor Summit 2024 aims to bridge the gap between innovative projects and potential investors. This summit will provide students, researchers, and faculty members with a platform to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and projects to a panel of esteemed investors. Mr Yogesh D Brahmankar, Innovation Director, Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government Of India was the Guest of Honour.</p>

Engineer's Day Celebration at PDEU

<p>We are happy to announce the successful installation of a solar-powered high-recovery (80%) water purification system at Lodhwa village, Junagadh District, Gujarat, showing our commitment to sustainability. This is a true outcome of a Research Project under the India H2O project - supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and the European Union Commission under the Horizon 2020 scheme.<br /><br />The 20% rejected water from the purification process is now nurturing Salicornia, a plant rich in vital minerals, vitamins (A, B1, B15, C), potassium, calcium, beta-carotene, and iodine. <p>According to the latest media update by India TV, "Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director, Mukesh Ambani, who is also the President of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), addressed the students at the 11th convocation ceremony of the institute and said that energy transition has become the most critical factor in ensuring India&rsquo;s transformation into a global leader in green, sustainable and inclusive development adding PDEU is at the forefront of education and research in this area. Welcoming the chief guest, ISRO Director S Somanath, Mukesh Ambani said, "You are truly an inspiration not just to the students of PDEU, but also to millions of bright young minds across India. ISRO&rsquo;s success with Chandrayan 3 has made every Indian&rsquo;s heart swell with pride. And it has made the world see India as a space superpower. Therefore, there couldn&rsquo;t have been a better person than you to guide and motivate our graduating students as they step into their professional lives."</p>

<p>Soon, visitors to Gandhinagar from Ahmedabad would be able to see solar panels floating on water on both sides of Narmada Canel. The Array of 15 Soalr Panels - likely to be produced in Gujarat will generate 3MW of electricity. The project, which has got in-principle nod from the state government, will be carried out by PDEU and GSECL.<br /><br /></p>
<p>Prof S Sundar Manoharan, director general of PDEU, on December 2 had said during the university&rsquo;s convocation that it has got in-principle approval forr Rs. 26 Cr. project from GSECL.</p>

Signed an MoU on February 19, 2024, to enhance collaborative research, faculty and student exchange, and to make the best use of our combined resources.</p>

<p>The rankings for 2023-24 under the Gujarat State Institutional Ranking Framework (GSIRF) were announced on 5th Dec, 2024. The top 16 institutes were felicitated by state higher and technical education minister Rushikesh Patel along with senior education department officials. Four universities &mdash; Gujarat University, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Nirma University, and CEPT University &mdash; received a five-star plus rating, whereas 13 universities received a five-star rating in the exercise by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) and the Indian Centre for Academic Rankings &amp; Excellence (ICARE).</p>

<p>The three day PDEU Youth Parliament 2025, held from Jan 17 - 19, witnessed solid exchange of ideas as young delegates deliberated on national and global issues. The closing ceremony attended by Dr. Ajay Umat, Group Editor, Ahmedabad Mirror and NavGujarat Samay, marked the successful conclusion of the parliament. Earlier, Jamnagar (North) MLA Rivaba Jadeja and Gandhinagar (North) MLA Rita Patel had inspired delegates by their presence.</p>
