Brief description

Dr. Jaykumar Vora completed his Ph.D. in the field of advanced welding technology at PDPU. His Ph.D. research project was pivoted to A-TIG welding of RAFM steel. He completed his Masters in welding technology from MSU Baroda. He also worked as a visiting faculty and research scholar at Lamar university, USA. He has extensive industrial experience and completed his masters research project at M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited. He is currently working on techniques to incorporate nanotechnology in welding processes for improving the performance. He is also currently working on multiple projects funded by BRNS, ORSP and other funding bodies.

1) Scholarship awarded from M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd. for pursuing Master?s program from 08/07/2010 to 30/06/2012 (two years). The amount of scholarship was INR 8000/- per month. 2) Research Project worth INR 14, 21,000/- awarded by Board of research in fusion science and technology (BRFST) for executing research project on dissimilar stainless steel joining. Tenure of project is 01 year and date awarded was 09/09/2014. The project was awarded A Grade by the board. 3) Empaneled as an expert by Centre of Entrepreneurship development (CED), govt. of Gujarat for overlooking the skill development activities of CED across Gujarat state. 4) Recognized as a Chartered Engineer by Institution of Engineers India. 5) Chaired a session on Industrial Engineering practices and challenges at ?4th International conference on Industrial Engineering (ICIE-2017)? organized by Dept. of mechanical engineering, SVNIT, Surat in association with IIIE, Mumbai during 21st to 26rd December, 2017. 6) Successfully started and running an online You-tube channel ?Researchers Online? wherein videos related to core aspect or research. 7) Recognized reviewer for different international peer review journals and books from Elsevier, Springer, T&F etc. 7) Awarded certificate for outstanding contribution in reviewing by Journal of Manufacturing process, Elsevier in July- 2017. 8) Secured 2nd Position in Young Engineers award competition, organized by Indian Institute of welding (IIW). 9) Empaneled as a Subject matter expert by TATA Consultancies services (TCS). 10) Selected as a Visiting Scientist by Indian National Science Academy (INSA) to carry out research at International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials (ARCI). Fellowship provided by INSA. 11) Awarded the International Travel Support from SERB, Govt. of India for attending the IIW Annual assembly and International conference - 2017, at Shanghai, China from 24th June to 30th June, 2017. 12) Invited as a Visiting research Scholar and Visiting faculty at Lamar University, TX, US from May-July 2016. 13) Best paper award for research paper Jay J.
